How do you let everyone know that you’re the hybrid king? By kicking off 2009 with the third-generation version of the most popular hybrid to ever drive planet Earth and by launching a certified used hybrid program. Toyota announced today that it will offer a new Toyota Certified Used Hybrid (TCUH) program that will provide inspection and warranty coverage on certified used Toyota hybrids.
Each certified used Toyota hybrid will come with a 3-month/3,000 mile comprehensive warranty, 7-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warrant and roadside assistance plan offered on traditional Toyota Certified Used Vehicles (TCUV). Toyota said that the program also brings awareness to a pre-existing eight-year/100,000-mile factory hybrid battery warranty.
The new program also includes 14 additional inspection points beyond the current TCUV 160-point quality assurance inspection. The 174-point Toyota Certified Hybrid inspection includes examination of key hybrid components, such as the hybrid transaxle, control modules and… the battery.
